Where do I enter for Cape Wine Marathon?

Should I wear a costume?

This is a fun event with a Carnival theme and we encourage everyone to dress up!

When and where will registration take place?

Registration will be at Franschhoek Monument the day before the race.  Here you will receive your race number, awesome goody bag and additional details of the event.

You can also register/enter on race day from 06h00 am at Franschhoek Monument.

Can I still run the marathon if I'm under 18?

No. Only 18 years and older can compete in a marathon race. However, you may still enter for the 5km or 10km categories.

Can I change the distance?

Yes. If you would like to change your distance from 21km to 10km, for instance, you can simply visit us at registration and we will update you race detail. If you would like to upgrade, you will need to pay in the difference of the event price and we will assist you at registration.

What is your COVID-19 Refund policy?

Participation is on a first-in, last-out basis. Should numbers be reduced or the event cancelled by the organisers due to COVID-19, participants will be offered a 100% refund of their entry fee.

What time will the race start?

The race will start at 07h00 at Franschoek Monument.

07h00 – Half-Marathon runners

07h30 –10km runners

08h00 – 5km runners

Where is the start?

What is the cut-off time?

We don’t have a cut-off time, although there will be serious runners, the aim of the race is to have a fun day out.

Is there a prize giving?

We do have a prize giving at 11h00 at Franschhoek Monument.

Do I need to drink the wine at every point, or can I skip?

We’re not sure who wants to skip these amazing wine points, but we do understand if you feel a little tipsy after passing by a few of them. Each wine-point will equipped with both wine and water.

When will results be available?

As you cross the finish line your result will immediately be available on www.racetothesea.co.za/results. If you have any result related queries you’re welcome to send us a WhatsApp on 0607478286.

When will results be available?

Directly after the race you will receive a SMS with your results. You will also be able to find the results here.

What is the best hangover remedy?

After the race when the adrenaline and wine start working out of your system, you will definitely feel the hangover emerge. We suggest drinking lots of liquids (water) along with re-hydrate while scrolling through the endless selfies of the day.
